Keep in mind that the fingers on the hand display are slender. Gorgeous unique/bold setting and unique Cantera opal! Canteras are a mysterious stone and their beauty is best appreciated in sunlight! This is a collector piece (most likely of Mexican heritage), especially if you love opals! It is such a gorgeous ring, a unique very “rustic” setting with an amazing stone, heavy at 22.4 g. It has a wonderful patina, as well. Please view all the pictures of the stone and the band to form your own opinion. It looks like an adjustable ring, but there is no flexability. It is a 7 1/2, but it fits more like a size 7 because of the wide band and weight of the piece. The stone is in excellent condition, with very little crazing. Only a few tiny hairline fractures next to the matrix which is expected for an old stone… These are not easily visible. Refer to the pictures. I would describe this stone as a creamy peach to orange color. It just glows and has this unique quality without sunlight. In sunlight, faint flashes of many different colors appear, like green, pink, and purple. It is very gorgeous in the sun! The face of the ring is just over 3/4″ and the stone is about 3/4″ approx. The band is over 1/2″ at the widest point and over 1/4″ and the narrowest. The stone and setting sit up on the finger about 1/2″ and the high bezel and “teeth around the stone add a regal look to the ring. It makes a good middle or index finger ring… I took pictures in a variety of different lighting situations, because the stone changes a lot based on the lighting and angle. Temperature even changes the color, whether the stone is cold or warm. It is a very interesting stone. This is an amazing piece and in excellent condition for vintage. I do want to add that it is fairly old (circa 1940’s) and has somewhat of a rustic setting, but very solid. I can’t recommend polishing this ring, it could damage the band or stone. Please contact me first with a brief explanation. Item needs to be in its original condition and in its original inside packaging. I would never be dishonest with a listing and I try to be very detailed, but mistakes can happen. Thank you for your understanding. All items come from a smoke free home. Rings are sized to the nearest 1/4 size with a metal sizing mandrel. I don’t recommend polishing pieces with patina, since it may cause damage.
