This is such an incredibly exquisite parure (set). The suite features a large brooch as well as lengthy earrings. They are crafted from 18K yellow gold with enamel and hand-carved lava cameos. The frames and cameos are superb. Such fine detail and intricate carvings. The attention to detail in the brooch and earrings are truly museum-quality. The brooch is rather large spanning a length of 66 mm (for a hair over 2 & 3/4 inches). The carving is bezel set in a rich buttery gold. The carving is exquisite with a maiden and angel (winged cherub). Even the detail in the eyes hand and feet are incredible. The carving is very three dimensional. The carving is in excellent damage-free condition. The frame that the cameo rests in is equally as beautiful as the carving. The frame is decorated in red and turquoise enamel, also in perfect condition. The back of the brooch features a simple straight pin and c clasp. Again the brooch is in excellent damage free condition. Oh, how I love a good fabulous cameo. The earrings are also crafted from 18K yellow gold. They feature a right and left facing head of a cherub as well as a right and left facing maiden holding a jug. These earrings are exquisite, to say the least. The ear wires are hooks 18K. The hooks are soldered to the top round carved cameo head. The teardrop cameo dangles freely below, great movement in these earrings. The cameos are bezel set in 18K. The frames surrounding the cameos are also decorated in turquoise and red enamel accents. These earrings are also in museum quality, damage free and completely original.
